Accountant (Entry-Level)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our team. This role is responsible for managing daily bank reconciliations, resolving discrepancies, processing transactions, and supporting month-end close activities. The ideal candidate will have experience with Sage Intacct (preferred, but not required), along with strong problem-solving and communication skills to support multiple branches.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily reconciliation of high-volume bank transactions to ensure accuracy
  • Maintain and update reconciliation workbooks for multiple branches
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies related to misapplied payments and other issues as needed
  • Serve as the primary contact for branch inquiries regarding deposits and banking matters
  • Process customer refunds and record transactions
  • Utilize Sage Intacct for bank reconciliations, accounts payable, and journal entries
  • Assist with the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Conduct profit and loss (P&L) reviews to assess financial performance and identify variances
  • Assist with other projects and tasks, as assigned and needed
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • 1+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a high-volume transaction environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with branches and resolve banking inquiries.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with multi-branch accounting and reconciliations.
  • Familiarity with accounts payable and journal entry processes.
  • Proficiency in Sage Intacct (or similar financial software).
  • Previous experience in a customer service-oriented accounting role.
