[ A bout the Role] 2x Associate Lectureships: These two positions will provide a development opportunity for those who have exceptional potential in the field(s) of International Relations and/or Diplomatic Studies. During their two-year appointment, the Associate Lecturers will be expected to contribute to class teaching on both the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. While our teaching needs can arise in all areas of the curriculum, we particularly welcome applicants who can teach in the area of International Relations and Diplomatic Studies with possible regional expertise focused on Africa, South Asia, or East Asia. Associate Lecturers will also be encouraged to cultivate their research trajectory within the Department of Politics and International Studies. The Associate Lecturers will be expected to teach across some of the following modules (depending on experience): Introduction to International Relations Introduction to Global History Decolonising World Politics Foreign Policy Analysis War and the International Critical Security Studies Politics of Global Security (PG) AI and Human Security (PG) General Diplomatic Studies (PG) Diplomatic Practice (PG) [About the Department] The SOAS Department of Politics and International Studies is a world-leading, research-led department, ranked 3rd in the world for academic reputation (QS World University Rankings / Politics 2025.
