About the Role:

We are seeking a talented Atlassian Systems Engineer to join our Falcon Complete Labs team. As an Atlassian Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and continuous improvement of a multitude of purpose built applications through our CI/CD pipelines and development workflows. Development will take place in both our commercial, and govcloud environments. You will work closely with our Falcon Complete teams to optimize our infrastructure, automate processes, and enhance the reliability and scalability of our systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in DevOps practices. Proficiency in Atlassian tools administration and workflow development is highly desirable.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and Maintain Atlassian Tools: Administer and enhance Atlassian tools to support agile development and DevOps practices.
  • Script Development: Write and maintain custom scripts using Adaptavist ScriptRunner and Groovy to automate workflows and processes within Jira.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Management: Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth and efficient software delivery.
  • Database Management: Administer and optimize PostgreSQL databases to ensure high performance and availability.
  • Collaboration and Support: Work closely with development teams to understand their needs and provide technical support and solutions to enhance productivity and automate processes.
  • Agile Practices: Actively participate in Agile/Scrum or Kanban ceremonies.
  • Linux Administration: Installing, updating, and maintaining Atlassian services in a Linux environment.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for developed scripts, workflows, and processes.


What You'll Need:
  • Experience: 4+ years of experience in DevOps engineering with a focus on Atlassian tools, heavily weighted towards Jira and Jira Service Management.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Atlassian tools administration and workflow development.
    • Expertise with Adaptavist ScriptRunner for Jira.
    • Expertise in writing scripts using Groovy or Java.
    • Expertise with Kubernetes
    • Familiarity with loosely coupled architectures
    • Familiarity with Python or Go
    • Familiarity with version control (e.g. Git).
    • Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum or Kanban methodologies.
    • Proficiency with PostgreSQL to include database management and scripting.
    • Comfortable operating in a Linux shell.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting ability.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively and positively within a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.


Bonus Points:
  • Certifications: Atlassian Certified Professional or similar certifications.
  • Additional Tools: Experience with additional Atlassian Marketplace apps and plugins.
  • Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS).
  • Monitoring and Logging: Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools.
  • Security Practices: Strong mindset for security and risk when developing code and implementing solutions.
