Job Description

Honeydew is an early-stage startup on a mission to simplify the home ownership journey. We are building a two-sided marketplace and communication platform for consumers to streamline the purchase, renovation, and maintenance of homes — making the entire process more transparent, efficient, and connected for homeowners and service professionals.

We are seeking a Founding CTO & Technical Co-Founder to own the full technical vision, architecture, and development of our platform from MVP through launch and growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all technical strategy, architecture, and implementation decisions
  • Design and build the core platform including payment integrations, real-time messaging systems, and machine learning matching algorithms
  • Develop the initial web application followed by native iOS and Android applications
  • Establish engineering standards, development processes, and technical roadmap
  • Hire, mentor, and lead future engineering team members as the company grows
  • Collaborate closely with the CEO on product priorities and go-to-market strategy
Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related technical field (or equivalent professional experience)
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrated progression into technical leadership roles
  • Hands-on experience building and deploying production-grade web and mobile applications
  • Strong background in back-end systems, API design, and scalable architecture
  • Experience with prototyping, system design, and bringing products from concept to live production
  • Proficiency in modern full-stack development, cloud infrastructure, and relevant technologies for payments, real-time systems, and machine learning
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience building or significantly contributing to a marketplace, SaaS, or two-sided platform
  • Experience with payment processing integrations, real-time messaging, or machine learning applications
  • Track record of hiring and leading small engineering teams
