Class A CDL Driver - Friday/Saturdays Only + On-Call/Floater

Overview
We are seeking a reliable and flexible Class A CDL Driver to join our team as a Part-Time/On-call/Floater. This position is ideal for drivers looking for flexible work opportunities. This role offers the opportunity to work on an as-needed basis, providing vital transportation services across various routes. As a floater, you will be contacted when driving work becomes available, such as covering for drivers who are on vacation, sick leave, or when additional routes are needed.

Schedule

  • Every Friday/Saturday - CA/OR route with layover
  • - Shift starts Friday early afternoon CA-OR, layover in OR, return to CA Saturday afternoon
  • Floater/on-call as needed - when we have additional work or need help covering runs, we will ask if you are available
  • Regional routes

Responsibilities

  • Operate a commercial truck and trailer safely and in compliance with all DOT and state/federal regulations
  • Cover routes on short notice when regular drivers are unavailable, or when we have extra loads
  • Drive route-specific deliveries and pickups across different locations, adhering to schedules and safety protocols
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
  • Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo documentation, and delivery records in accordance with federal regulations
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries or resolve issues promptly
  • Assist with other transportation-related tasks such as taking the truck to the shop for routine maintenance and repairs

Qualifications

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record
  • Minimum of 1 year Class A experience
  • Experience operating manual transmission trucks is preferred but not required
  • Proven truck driving experience with a focus on freight delivery, including route driving and load & unload procedures
  • Familiarity with various types of trailers such as refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, or similar equipment is advantageous
  • Knowledge of safety regulations related to commercial driving
  • Knowledge of truck maintenance is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and a flexible schedule to accommodate on-call shifts as needed
  • Clean driving record - no accidents, moving violations or tickets within the past 2 years

  • We do expect all of our drivers to be professional and clean up after themselves when using a truck. Please note sometimes you may slip seat a truck.
