Commercial & Industrial Account Manager, Market Specialist – Birmingham Alabama Power Company – Division Sales Birmingham This position is located at APC Corporate Headquarters in Birmingham, AL POSITION SUMMARY This position will manage large specialized Commercial and Industrial customers within the Alabama Power Company’s Birmingham Division and is responsible for developing strategic customer relationships, achieving sales goals, and maintaining strong customer satisfaction. This position will develop an in-depth knowledge of the customers’ business, operations, and facilities. This position will be the main point of contact for all Alabama Power Company managed customer interactions. These include kWh and non-kWh sales, electrical service, rates/pricing, contract negotiations, and overall customer service.  This position will also partner with other Alabama Power Company organizations to ensure success; therefore, excellent interpersonal skills are required.  This position will occasionally require availability after hours.  Major Responsibilities:   Manage assigned Commercial & Industrial customers. This includes but is not limited to the following: sales, customer service, rates, pricing, and power contracts.  Effectively communicate customer information, events, and issues to ensure timely resolutions.  Responsible for the retention and growth of revenues from assigned managed customer accounts.  Develop and implement effective customer sales, service, energy efficiency and satisfaction strategies.  Continuously assess the condition of the relationship with each customer and develop ongoing strategies for maintaining and improving relationships.  Assure that all sales potential is fully identified and effectively pursued.  Effectively work with team members to provide support, as needed, and share best practices and experiences.  Effectively communicate customers' scheduled events that involve distribution, substation, and transmission.  Leverage relationships with Power Delivery, Accounting, Energy Services as well as other Corporate Marketing partners to better serve the customer and resolve issues.    Available beyond standard work hours to assist with customer-related activity.   POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Candidates with the following preferred qualifications are encouraged to apply! Education: A bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a marketing-related field is highly preferred  Experience: Commercial/Industrial account management and/or Power Delivery - minimum 3 years of experience preferred Demonstrated experience working with commercial and/or industrial customers to facilitate electric service requests, create load sheets, and develop sales proposals targeting end use and product & service opportunities Experience and knowledge in the appropriate application of rates/pricing, bill calculation, rate studies, and contracts A proven record of achieving or supporting sales results and delivering excellent customer service Experience using internal tools (IDMS-SAM, iClear, iRate, RateSIM, CSS, CIT, Energy Direct, Sales Cloud, etc.) Excellent project management skills using MS Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)  Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Demonstrated technical aptitude for commercial and Industrial electrical and mechanical systems Sales focused on the ability to independently identify, communicate, manage, and complete a wide range of sales opportunities Organized self-starter who understands expectations and proactively strives to achieve expectations without routine oversite Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
