Compliance, Threat & Risk Assessment Manager

Job Description:

  • Manage enterprise-wide compliance risk assessments, including inherent risk identification, control evaluation, residual risk determination, and articulation of key findings and risk themes
  • Partner with MLROs, CCOs, and cross-functional stakeholders across Coinbase legal entities to deliver globally coordinated, locally relevant risk assessment outcomes
  • Produce risk assessment reports, executive summaries, and governance materials for senior leadership, risk forums, and regulatory audiences
  • Drive transaction monitoring and customer risk scoring coverage assessments and lead geographic risk rating updates ensuring ratings are current, risk-based, and operationally actionable
  • Develop a compliance threat assessment framework including governance, methodology, documentation standards, and ongoing maintenance
  • Pioneer AI-powered automation to scale assessment workflows, demonstrating high AI fluency while maintaining rigorous human judgment and oversight

Requirements:

  • 8+ years in compliance, financial crimes, or operational risk assessment within a regulated financial institution, fintech, or consulting firm
  • Demonstrated success independently leading large-scale risk assessments, influencing senior stakeholders, and driving cross-functional outcomes in ambiguous environments
  • Deep expertise in AML/CFT, sanctions, transaction monitoring, customer risk scoring, geographic risk assessment, and compliance risk management frameworks
  • Experience designing threat assessment frameworks, conducting TM/CRS coverage assessments, and leading geographic risk rating reviews across multi-entity or multi-jurisdictional compliance environments
  • Proven ability to produce executive-quality written communications, data analysis, and governance materials; proficiency in Excel, SQL, and AI platforms
  • Crypto-forward mindset with understanding of crypto products, services, and evolving ecosystem risks
  • Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
