<p>Sumerra is currently seeking a detail-oriented, self-motivated compliance professional to join our team.  This is an excellent opportunity to work within the social compliance consulting industry and collaborate with a variety of supplier sectors, including apparel and footwear, electronics, and other industries. Position is full time, however we are open to part time as well. </p><p><br></p><p>At this time, we have several specific needs within our organization. WE’D LOVE TO CONNECT! PLEASE SEND AN EMAIL TO </em></strong><strong><em>JOBOPPORTUNITIES@SUMERRA.COM</em></strong><strong><em> AND DESCRIBE YOUR BACKGROUND. ***</em></strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li><span> 5+ years of direct experience in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), responsible sourcing, social compliance, environmental compliance, and/or health & safety compliance </span></li><li><span>Strong knowledge of labor/social compliance and Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs and requirements </span></li><li><span>1+ year experience developing and/or managing in depth Corrective Action Plans (CAPs), ideally working directly with facilities to implement improvements </span></li><li><span>An individual who enjoys day-to-day operational execution, including task management, process creation/improvement, and detailed project work. This will be a big portion of the work, but will also include strategic work as well. </span></li><li><span>Someone who works well across a variety of programs, tasks, and initiatives, and is willing to step in and support different projects as needed in a consulting environment.</span></li><li><span>Strong ability to make thoughtful, risk-based decisions </span></li><li><span>Adept with systems and databases (online programs, Excel, task management software, data analytics, etc.).</span></li><li><span>Experience with audit report quality assurance, implementation of corrective actions, root cause analysis and remediation to drive management system improvements.</span></li><li><span>Someone who is adaptable to the evolving AI landscape and proactively looks for opportunities to thoughtfully integrate AI tools and technologies into their work.</span></li><li><span>Experience conducting, managing, or supporting programs such as SLCP, Cascale, RBA, or other multi-stakeholder social compliance initiatives is a plus </span></li><li><span>Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field</span></li><li><span>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail </span></li><li><span>Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and perform effectively with limited supervision</span></li><li><span>Previous consulting experience is a plus </span></li><li><span>Ability to have weekly work calls outside of the 8-5 Hours </span></li></ul><p><span> </span></p><p><br></p><p><strong>EXAMPLE WORK OPTIONS (SOME HIGHLIGHTS):</strong></p><ul><li>Work directly with suppliers on Corrective Action Plans (CAPs). These CAPs are often highly detailed and hands-on, requiring individuals with strong knowledge and experience in this area, as well as the ability to effectively manage discussions involving differing perspectives and competing priorities. Many of these conversations involve senior leadership at large organizations, so strong communication is essential. </li><li>Program management support for one of our key clients.
