About the Position

The Home Builders Association of Greater Cincinnati (HBA) is seeking an energetic, relationship-driven professional to lead the planning, promotion, and execution of member events while driving sponsorship revenue, member engagement, and organizational visibility.

This role combines event management, marketing, sponsorship development, digital communications oversight, and relationship building into one highly visible position. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who enjoys connecting with people and creating exceptional experiences for stakeholders.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable organizing an event, developing event marketing campaigns, making sponsorship calls, and building strong relationships.

Primary Responsibilities

Event Planning & Execution

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute HBA events throughout the year, including educational programs, networking events, and annual signature events.
  • Manage event timelines, logistics, registrations, vendor coordination, venue relationships, and attendee experience.
  • Develop and manage event budgets.
  • Evaluate event performance and recommend improvements that increase attendance, engagement, and profitability.
  • Collaborate with committees, volunteers, sponsors, and staff to ensure successful execution.

Sponsorship Development & Revenue Generation

  • Develop and execute annual sponsorship strategies for HBA events and programs.
  • Identify, solicit, and secure sponsorships from both members and non-members.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing sponsors while actively pursuing new opportunities.
  • Ensure all sponsorship benefits and deliverables are fulfilled.

Marketing & Communications

  • Develop and implement event marketing campaigns that increase attendance, sponsorship participation, and member engagement.
  • Create and manage content for email marketing, newsletters, digital advertising, and social media platforms.
  • Design promotional materials and event communications.
  • Track marketing effectiveness and adjust strategies based on performance metrics.

Digital Media & Website Management

  • Manage and maintain the HBA website, ensuring content remains current, accurate, and engaging.
  • Develop and execute a content calendar for social media and digital communications.
  • Create compelling content including graphics, photography, video, member spotlights, event promotions, and industry updates.
  • Monitor engagement metrics and recommend strategies to increase audience reach and participation.

Member Engagement

  • Serve as a key ambassador for the HBA with members, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Support membership retention and engagement efforts through relationship building, superior customer service, and proactive communication.
  • Provide staff leadership for the Associate Member Council and other assigned committees.
  • Identify opportunities to increase member participation and strengthen the member experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.
  • Five or more years of experience in event management, marketing, communications, sponsorship development, or a related field.
  • Proven experience generating revenue through event sponsorships and partnership development.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, social media platforms, email marketing platforms, and CRM/database software.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends events, when needed.
