Fiction Manuscript Reviewer / AI Manuscript Cleanup Ghostwriter or Editor

I'm looking for a detail-oriented fiction writer/editor to review 4 completed novella-length manuscripts (approximately 20,000 words each).

The manuscripts have already been written and do not need major rewrites. I'm looking for someone who can read through the story and help ensure it feels natural, consistent, and engaging for readers.

Genres:

- Romance (steamy and clean)

- Psychological Thriller

- Cozy Mystery

What You'll Be Looking For

* Awkward or unnatural phrasing

* Repetitive language

* Obvious AI-generated writing patterns

* Dialogue that doesn't sound natural

* Character inconsistencies

* Plot holes or logic issues

* Continuity errors

* Unresolved story threads

* Confusing scenes or sections

* Areas where the story doesn't quite make sense

Deliverables

* Light edits directly in the manuscript using Track Changes

* Comments noting any plot holes, continuity problems, or confusing sections

* Suggestions where a scene, character action, or piece of dialogue feels unrealistic or inconsistent

What This Is NOT

* Full developmental editing

* Heavy rewriting

* Book coaching

* Extensive copyediting

* Proofreading only

Think of this role as a final quality-control pass between manuscript completion and publication.

Project Details

* Approximately 20,000 words per manuscript

* 4–5 manuscripts available immediately

* $75 per manuscript

* Potential for ongoing work if we're a good fit

Ideal Candidate

* Enjoys reading fiction

* Has experience editing or reviewing fiction manuscripts

* Understands reader expectations in romance, thriller, and mystery genres

* Can identify AI-generated writing patterns and help smooth them out

* Has strong attention to detail

I'm looking for someone who can help make these manuscripts feel smooth, natural, and publication-ready without overcomplicating the process.
