The Role: The Financial Analyst supports the On-Demand Talent finance team, with primary responsibility for global reporting, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and process improvement support for the On-Demand Talent business. On-Demand Talent is part of the firm’s broader talent solutions business and provides clients with access to independent talent and project-based expertise. This role is responsible for supporting financial reporting and reviewing financial and operating data across the On-Demand Talent business, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and meaningful insight. The Financial Analyst provides timely and actionable financial analysis to support business operations through recurring management reporting, Salesforce reporting, budget and forecast support, daily report updates, non-accounting month-end reporting activities, and analysis of revenue and cost drivers. The role also assists in the preparation of presentations and materials for finance and senior leadership. Reporting to the Finance Manager, On-Demand Talent, the position partners closely with finance and operational teams and supports the Finance Manager in an advisory capacity to On-Demand Talent leadership. Responsibilities: Support financial reporting for the On-Demand Talent business globally, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of financial results. Review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results, including variance analysis versus budget, forecast, and prior periods. Support budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes for the On-Demand Talent business, including preparation, review, and presentation of outputs. Build, maintain, and enhance Salesforce reports to support pipeline, bookings, revenue, conversion, and other business performance analyses. Prepare and maintain standard management reporting, dashboards, and ad hoc analyses for finance and business stakeholders. Update recurring daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports and support timely distribution of reporting communications to stakeholders. Provide timely and actionable financial analysis to support business and operational decision-making. Support non-accounting month-end reporting activities, including reporting updates, variance explanations, and analysis needed to explain business results. Analyze revenue, gross margin, bookings, project starts, conversion rates, average project value, extensions, and related performance drivers. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, controls, and scalability across finance reporting, forecasting, dashboarding, and presentation processes. Evaluate recurring reporting and deck preparation processes and recommend ways to reduce manual effort and improve consistency. Leverage approved productivity and research tools to streamline reporting, analysis, and presentation preparation. Collaborate closely with the Finance Manager, On-Demand Talent, and broader finance organization to support strategic initiatives and cross-functional projects. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field. Advanced Excel and analytical skills, including PivotTables, lookup formulas, data manipulation, and financial modeling fundamentals. General understanding of finance, accounting, and FP&A concepts, including P&L analysis, revenue, expenses, gross margin, budgeting, and forecasting. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sound judgment. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, prioritize competing responsibilities, and meet strict deadlines. Demonstrated ability to standardize, automate, and improve financial reporting processes. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and analytical, with strong independent thinking, creative problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in professional services, consulting, staffing, talent solutions, or another project-based services environment, with exposure to management reporting, business review materials, or financial presentations for senior stakeholders. Working knowledge of Salesforce reporting, including the ability to build, maintain, and interpret reports. Experience working with large data sets and financial reporting tools, including knowledge of Power Query, Power BI, or similar dashboarding and visualization tools. Experience with PeopleSoft general ledger, OCC or similar reporting tools, Workday, and Anaplan planning tool is desirable. Pay Range Guidelines for this Position: The salary range for this position is 75000 USD to 90000 USD. Compensation is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience and skills. In addition to your salary, Heidrick & Struggles offers discretionary bonuses (subject to eligibility requirements) and a comprehensive benefits package including: medical, dental, vision, disability leave, parental leave, paid time off and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
