With colleagues from five continents, English is our working language. We're seeking an exceptional CTO to lead the technological evolution of Quantica's proprietary additive manufacturing platform.

You'll be responsible for transforming cutting-edge hardware and materials science breakthroughs into reliable, scalable industrial products ready for global deployment. This role demands a rare combination of R&D expertise and engineering leadership to scale our next-generation hardware and software platforms across the production industry. You'll ensure our systems are high-performing, intelligent, and primed for seamless industrial integration.

Vision & Innovation (R&D) Strategic R&D Leadership: Define and champion Quantica's technology roadmap, guiding the R&D team to develop next-generation capabilities and translate them into high-value industrial applications Application Discovery: Lead technical feasibility studies to identify and validate breakthrough materials and industrial use cases Build and nurture relationships with leading research institutes and industrial partners to maintain our competitive edge in additive manufacturing Systematically transition R&D prototypes into production-ready, modular systems designed for seamless integration into industrial manufacturing lines Quality & Reliability: Establish rigorous testing protocols ensuring hardware longevity, material compatibility, and compliance with industrial uptime standards Multi-Disciplinary Technology Strategy Software & AI Innovation: Drive development of sophisticated software suites including print management systems and AI-driven nozzle compensation algorithms that enhance print quality and system intelligence Team Development: Lead, mentor, and scale a 20-30+ person multidisciplinary engineering organization spanning mechanical, software, firmware, electronics, and materials teams (including remote team members) Serve as Quantica's technical spokesperson to industrial customers, partners, and investors during critical funding rounds 10+ years of deep-tech engineering experience in fields such as additive manufacturing, inkjet technology, robotics, precision electronics, or comparable high-tech domains ~ Proven leadership managing multidisciplinary teams (hardware + software) across distributed locations ~ Track record of scaling deep-tech products from lab/prototype stage to robust, 24/7 industrial deployment in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field Direct experience with industrial inkjet or similar precision dispensing technologies computer vision, predictive maintenance, quality control) While deeply expert in one domain, you can critically evaluate PCB designs, software architecture, fluid dynamics, and materials science with equal facility Quantica is an additive manufacturing technology company that has developed its own printhead technology. Quantica´s headquarters is located in Berlin, and we have an office in Barcelona as well.
