Healthcare Support Worker – London-Based, Tier 2 Visa Available

Job Summary

GracePath Healthcare is seeking compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Support Workers to join our growing team in London. As a key part of our patient care services, you will assist individuals with daily personal care, support with mobility, emotional companionship, and contribute meaningfully to the quality of life of those under our care. This role is ideal for applicants passionate about delivering person-centred care and making a real difference. International applicants are welcome, and Tier 2 visa sponsorship is available for eligible candidates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality personal care and support to patients in accordance with care plans.

  • Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility.

  • Monitor and report changes in health, behaviour, and overall condition to nursing staff or team leaders.

  • Support individuals with medication prompts and record-keeping under supervision.

  • Ensure the health, safety, and dignity of service users at all times.

  • Build meaningful relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to GracePaths values and safeguarding policies.

  • Participate in team meetings, training, and continuous professional development.

  • Support residents with social and recreational activities, both in care facilities and in the community.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent), preferred but not essential.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Basic understanding of health, hygiene, and safety practices in care environments.

  • Compassionate, reliable, and empathetic approach to care.

  • Right to work in the UK or eligibility for Tier 2 sponsorship.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a care or support role (minimum 6 months preferred).

  • Experience working with elderly patients, individuals with disabilities, or mental health support needs is an advantage.

  • Newcomers with a strong passion for healthcare will be considered, especially if undergoing formal training.

Working Hours

  • Full-time: 37.5 to 48 hours per week.

  • Shifts: Includes early mornings, evenings, weekends, and night shifts on a rota basis.

  • Overtime available, paid at enhanced rates.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to work independently and take initiative when required.

  • Understanding of patient confidentiality and data protection policies.

  • Sensitivity to different cultural backgrounds and needs.

  • Basic IT literacy for electronic recordkeeping and communication.
