This role supports public safety agencies nationwide by delivering high-impact remote demonstrations of Skydio’s end-to-end UAS solutions, with a strong emphasis on Drone as First Responder (DFR) programs, DFR Dock deployments, and concepts of operation.</p><p style="min-height:1.5em">This position is designed for candidates who are passionate about Public Safety missions, technically curious, and excited to engage customers through virtual discovery, product demonstrations, solution design, and operational planning. In addition to supporting customers remotely, this role plays an important part in helping agencies successfully deploy and operationalize DFR programs, including site readiness planning, deployment support, and customer trials. While this is a remote inside-sales role, travel (approximately 50%) is required to support customer engagements, field activities, deployment efforts, and company events.</p><p style="min-height:1.5em">Solutions Engineers are critical members of the Skydio Sales organization and work closely with Account Executives, Deployment Engineers, and Launch Team members to support deal progression, customer confidence, successful deployments, and the long-term success of Public Safety sUAS programs.</p><p style="min-height:1.5em">This role reports to the Manager of SLED Solutions Engineering.</p><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>How You’ll Make an Impact</strong></p><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Support Public Safety agencies across the U.S. by delivering compelling remote and virtual product demonstrations, with a focus on DFR workflows, DFR Dock operations, and mission outcomes.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Collaborate with Account Executives and conduct technical discovery to identify Skydio solutions for our customers’ operational needs.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Assist customers with DFR Dock deployment planning and site readiness activities, helping ensure successful implementation and operational adoption.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Support and, when needed, lead customer DFR Dock trials and field evaluations, working closely with customers to demonstrate operational value and validate deployment requirements.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Serve as a trusted technical resource to help customers understand how Skydio integrates into existing Public Safety operations and data ecosystems.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Capture, analyze, and communicate customer feedback to inform product improvements and roadmap decisions.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Work cross-functionally with Product, Sales, Deployment, and Customer Success teams to provide top-notch experiences for our customers, both pre- and post-sale.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Maintain strong working knowledge of Public Safety technologies, including CAD, VMS, and related software platforms, and support integration discussions as needed.</p></li></ul><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>Preferred Skills and Qualifications</strong></p><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Strong understanding of drone technology, Public Safety sUAS operations, and regulatory compliance.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Familiarity with Drone as First Responder (DFR) concepts of operation (professional experience highly preferred).</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Experience with or strong interest in DFR Dock deployments, remote sUAS operations, and associated site planning considerations.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Comfortable engaging customers in a remote, inside-sales environment, including virtual demos, meetings, and technical workshops.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Ability to work independently in the field while supporting customer trials, deployment activities, and operational evaluations.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in dynamic or high-pressure scenarios.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.</p></li></ul><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>What Is Required</strong></p><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">FAA Part 107 Certificate.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Ability to lift up to 60 lbs unaided.</p></li></ul><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>Compensation:</strong> </p><p style="min-height:1.5em">At Skydio, our compensation packages for regular, full-time employees include competitive base salaries, equity in the form of stock options, and comprehensive benefits packages. Compensation will vary based on factors, including skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. Relocation assistance may also be provided for eligible roles. The range for on-target earnings (OTE) is $120,000 – $180,000, depending on skill level, experience, and transferable knowledge.
