Lead Information Developer (Lead Technical Writer)

About the position

CME Group is seeking an innovative and experienced Lead Information Developer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and managing high-quality technical content for CME Group's industry-leading CME Globex platform and its associated trading and risk management services. The ideal candidate will be a leader in content development, excel at guiding content projects from start to finish, and be passionate about leveraging cutting-edge technology, including artificial intelligence, to enhance our work. Responsibilities

  • Content Development and Governance: Lead the hands-on creation and management of technical content, ensuring all deliverables adhere to established templates, branding guidelines, and workflows to meet client needs.
  • Develop and maintain a variety of technical materials, including documentation, diagrams, workflows, for primarily external audiences.
  • End-to-End Video Production: Manage the entire video production lifecycle for technical content. This includes defining scope with stakeholders, storyboarding concepts, scripting, editing, and securing approvals.
  • Utilize video creation and editing tools such as Adobe After Effects, Audacity, SnagIt and Google Vids, and provide professional voice-over for final production.
  • Content Leadership and Stakeholder Collaboration: Lead the entire content lifecycle, from initial concept to final publication, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Collaborate with business owners, analysts, and subject matter experts to manage project expectations and incorporate feedback.
  • Innovation & Process Improvement: Champion the use of the latest Google AI technologies, such as NotebookLM and Gemini, to innovate and improve our content creation and management processes.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process efficiencies and enhancements to our services and work output.
  • Technical Expertise & Mentorship: Act as a subject matter expert on our products, services, and authoring tools (e.g., Madcap Flare, Bitbucket, Google Vids).
  • Mentor and guide other team members, promoting best practices in content strategy and development.

Requirements

  • Experience : 5+ years of experience in a technical writing or information developer role, demonstrated by a professional portfolio of customer-facing technical content.
  • Project & Time Management : Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects with overlapping deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical Acumen : A demonstrated ability to quickly learn and document complex technical and business concepts.
  • Authoring Tools : Hands-on experience with modern authoring tools, particularly Madcap Flare or other Content Management Systems (CMS).
  • Multimedia Production : Hands-on experience with the end-to-end video production process, including storyboarding, scripting, and stakeholder management.
  • Proficiency with editing tools like Adobe After Effects, Audacity, SnagIt and Google Vids, combined with professional voice-over talent is highly desirable
  • Collaboration : Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a track record of successfully collaborating with cross-functional teams including analysts, developers, and business owners.
  • Attention to Detail : A meticulous approach to testing and validating procedural content against application user interfaces and requirements.

  • AI & Innovation : A strong interest in and experience using AI tools (e.g., Gemini, NotebookLM, etc) to innovate and improve content workflows.
  • Collaboration and Tracking Tools : Prior Confluence and JIRA experience.
  • Industry Knowledge : Experience in the financial exchange, trading technology, or a related FinTech field.
