Job Summary

Cigna, through its pharmacy benefit management division Express Scripts, is seeking a highly motivated Managed Care Resident – Physician Engagement to join our dynamic healthcare team. This residency-style role is designed for early-career healthcare professionals who are passionate about managed care, clinical collaboration, and value-based healthcare delivery.

The Managed Care Resident will work closely with physicians, pharmacists, clinical leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders to support evidence-based prescribing, optimize medication therapy outcomes, and strengthen provider engagement initiatives. This role offers hands-on exposure to managed care operations, clinical programs, and physician-facing strategies within one of the worlds leading health services organizations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support physician engagement initiatives focused on improving medication adherence, clinical outcomes, and cost-effective prescribing.

  • Collaborate with internal clinical, pharmacy, analytics, and operations teams to implement managed care programs.

  • Assist in developing and delivering provider education materials, clinical guidelines, and communication strategies.

  • Participate in data analysis related to utilization trends, formulary adherence, and clinical performance metrics.

  • Engage with healthcare providers to address questions related to formulary management, clinical programs, and pharmacy benefits.

  • Contribute to quality improvement projects aligned with value-based care and population health goals.

  • Support pilot programs and initiatives that enhance provider experience and patient outcomes.

  • Prepare reports, presentations, and summaries for leadership and physician-facing stakeholders.
