Manufacturing Operations Coordinator (PPG#336984)

Our client, a growing steel processing and manufacturing company, is seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Operations Coordinator to support both office and shop operations. This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, wants to learn all aspects of a manufacturing business, and is eager to grow into a key member of the management support team.
This role is ideal for a tech-savvy, detail-oriented individual who is comfortable working both in an office environment and on the production floor. The Manufacturing Operations Coordinator will assist with customer communication, production support, quality and safety initiatives, employee onboarding activities, and various administrative functions that help keep the business running smoothly.

Pay: $18.00-$20.00/hr.
Location: Blue Island, IL
 Schedule: 1st Shift

Key Responsibilities:

Customer & Administrative Support
  • Communicate with customers regarding order status and pickup schedules. 
  • Address customer concerns regarding incoming materials and coordinate resolutions with management. 
  • Assist with order tracking and production status updates. 
  • Maintain spreadsheets, reports, and administrative records. 
  • Support management with various office and operational projects. 

Manufacturing & Production Support
  • Assist with production scheduling and workflow coordination. 
  • Support programming and production-related administrative functions as training permits. 
  • Administer tape measure proficiency testing for shop employees. 
  • Help monitor and track production-related documentation. 

Quality & Safety Coordination
  • Assist with maintaining quality and safety records and documentation. 
  • Support safety initiatives and compliance programs. 
  • Conduct new employee safety orientations and facility walkthroughs. 
  • Help organize and maintain training records and certifications. 

Vendor & Employee Support
  • Coordinate weekly uniform program activities with the company's uniform provider. 
  • Maintain employee uniform records and inventory tracking. 
  • Assist with onboarding and employee-related administrative tasks. 

General Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with office staff, management, and production personnel. 
  • Move and organize materials and boxes weighing up to 40 pounds. 
  • Learn company processes and support continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
