Medical Billing Specialist

Overview
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Billing Specialist and play a vital role in ensuring accurate and efficient billing processes. In this position, you will manage the ERA , rejection, denials , and following up on outstanding balances. We’re looking for a motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering precise medical billing services.

Duties

  • Review and interpret ERA and patient's account
  • Submit accurate insurance claims using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to various payers.
  • Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective communication with insurance companies and patients to facilitate timely payments.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of billing activities, including medical records, claim status updates, and collection efforts.
  • Conduct medical collections by contacting patients or insurance companies to resolve outstanding balances.
  • Stay updated on changes in medical coding regulations, DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) classifications, and payer policies to ensure ongoing compliance.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in medical billing with a solid understanding of medical terminology, and billing workflows. Familiarity
  • Experience working with EHR systems in a healthcare setting is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of medical records management and the billing cycle from claim submission to payment posting.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to interpret complex medical documentation accurately.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with insurance providers, healthcare professionals, and patients regarding billing inquiries.
  • Prior experience in medical office environments or healthcare administrative roles is advantageous.
