Certified Nursing Assistant

Provide each of your assigned residents with routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with the resident’s assessment and care plan, and as may be directed by your supervisors.

Essential Duties:

  • Responsible for completing the daily shift report and communicating directly to the next shift any urgent needs.
  • Perform all assigned tasks in accordance with our established policies and procedures, and as instructed by your supervisors. Demonstrates ability to manage assigned tasks within the scheduled shift.
  • Assists with resident care to include housekeeping, laundry, social needs, and demonstrates proper lifting techniques.
  • Assists with serving meals and essential clean-up.
  • Record all entries on flow sheets, notes, charts, etc., in an informative and descriptive manner.
  • Report all changes in the resident’s condition to the DON/Charge Nurse/HWD as soon as practical.
  • Agree not to disclose resident’s protected health information and promptly report suspected or known violations of such disclosure to the Administrator.
  • Will keep certification current and participate in continuing education to include staff meetings, in services and web-based training.

Education/ Experience:

  • Must possess, as a minimum, a high school education or its equivalent.
  • Current certification as a Certified Nurse Assistant from the state.
  • Must be a licensed Certified Nurse Assistant having successfully completed a state approved training program and any necessary examination(s) in accordance with the laws of this State.
  • Prefer prior experience in AL or SNU. Prefer prior experience as a certified nurse aide for at least 1 year.

Specific Requirements:

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
  • Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
  • Must provide documentation of certification upon application for the position.
