Officer – AO&CS (Ramp Operations – Baggage & Equipment Handling)

Job Summary:

IndiGo Airline is looking for dynamic, dedicated, and physically fit individuals to join our Airport Operations & Customer Services (AO&CS) team as an Officer – Ramp Operations. This crucial role focuses on handling baggage, equipment, and aircraft turnaround services with high standards of safety, accuracy, and punctuality. You will be responsible for ensuring smooth coordination between ground handling teams, loading and unloading cargo, and maintaining ramp safety protocols in compliance with aviation regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage baggage loading/unloading and safe transportation to/from aircraft.

  • Operate and monitor Ground Support Equipment (GSE) including baggage trolleys, dollies, and pushback tractors.

  • Ensure timely aircraft turnaround by coordinating with loading teams and flight operations.

  • Conduct pre- and post-flight checks to ensure proper handling and secure stowage of baggage and cargo.

  • Report damaged baggage, misplaced cargo, or discrepancies to superiors promptly.

  • Implement and uphold safety and security procedures as per airline and DGCA norms.

  • Support in the preparation of flight documents and load plans.

  • Provide technical assistance during irregular operations and emergency situations.

  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of ramp areas and equipment.

  • Collaborate with AO&CS, engineering, and flight crew teams to ensure operational efficiency.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum educational qualification: 10+2 / Diploma / ITI from a recognized board or institution.

  • Good communication skills in English and Hindi/regional language.

  • Basic computer knowledge and understanding of aviation operations.

  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and physical stamina to work in dynamic airport environments.

  • Ability to operate or learn to operate ramp equipment and GSE.

  • Must possess a valid drivers license (LMV/HMV preferred).

Experience:

  • Freshers are welcome to apply.

  • Prior experience in ramp operations, ground handling, or aviation support services will be considered an added advantage.

Working Hours:

  • Rotational shifts including weekends and public holidays.

  • Shift timings are subject to flight schedules and operational needs.

  • Flexibility in working in early morning, night, or split shifts is essential.

  • Physical fitness to lift, load, and move baggage manually.

  • High attention to detail and adherence to safety standards.
