Partner, Program Manager – Program Management & Events

Job Description:

  • Lead high-priority, cross-functional program development by defining goals, success metrics, scope, and benchmarks for initiatives that support ActBlue's organizational and operational goals; hold accountability for execution quality across multiple workstreams.
  • Contribute to the development of ActBlue's operational roadmap, translating organizational strategy into actionable program plans and supporting execution across the organization.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration, enabling clear communication, decision-making, and accountability across departments and with senior members of the organization.
  • Incorporate diverse stakeholder perspectives to drive business results, consistently applying ActBlue's practices, historical context, and stakeholder needs in decision-making.
  • Develop tools, templates, and planning resources that establish standards and improve program management practices across the organization.
  • Build and manage detailed program plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource considerations.
  • Identify and mitigate program risks, proactively resolving issues and escalating tradeoff decisions to senior stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to leaders across the organization, providing analysis on program performance, organizational trends, and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Foster stakeholder alignment, bringing together diverse perspectives and leading through influence across teams.
  • Continuously evaluate programs using data and stakeholder feedback, adapting strategies to improve impact and efficiency.
  • Lead end-to-end planning and execution of high-visibility internal events - including all-staff gatherings and organizational offsites - ensuring they are strategically purposeful, operationally seamless, and reflective of ActBlue's culture and values.
  • Support external event programming for partner and customer audiences, contributing to experiences that advance ActBlue's relationships, brand, and mission.
  • Develop event management standards, playbooks, and vendor relationships that enable consistent, high-quality execution across event types and audiences.
  • Define success metrics for events and produce post-event analyses that capture ROI, stakeholder feedback, and lessons learned.
  • Partner with Communications, Marketing, People & Culture, and senior leadership to ensure event content, logistics, and attendee experience align with organizational messaging and goals.
  • Manage event budgets with rigor, negotiating contracts and vendor relationships to maximize impact within resource constraints.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 - 8 years of deep, specialized experience in cross-functional program or project management
  • Demonstrated experience planning and executing high-visibility internal and external events, including executive convenings and organizational offsites
  • Proven track record of advising and supporting senior leaders in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to introduce and leverage tooling in the program management process (AI, Airtable preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools; experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects
  • Demonstrated ability to define KPIs, benchmarks, and success metrics for high-visibility initiatives and to hold accountability for outcomes with broad organizational impact
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information and present it clearly
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels
  • High emotional intelligence and discretion, particularly in handling sensitive or confidential information
  • Ability to think strategically and operate effectively through ambiguity
  • Ability to manage complex event logistics - including vendor management, budget oversight, and stakeholder coordination while maintaining focus on outcomes
  • Experience developing event playbooks and scalable frameworks that elevate execution quality
