The Franklin County Auditor’s Office is seeking a Payroll Supervisor to join the Fiscal Services team.

What will you do?

Manages and supervises all assigned employees (e.g., schedules and assigns tasks; interviews job applicants; recommends the hiring of job applicants; recommends discipline; evaluates performance; receives employee complaints; approves and recommends the approval of leave requests); attends or participates in meetings in which policy questions are reviewed or discussed; develops and implements policy; recommends policy changes; has access to other employees’ personnel files; has access to financial data used in monitoring department revenue/income, etc.

Oversees bi-weekly payroll processing for approximately 7,000 plus county staff; ensures that procedures are in place for all Franklin County employees to be paid timely and accurately; develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure all accounting transactions and record keeping functions comply with applicable state and federal laws, and accounting principles; monitors and coordinates overall payroll reporting activities.

Facilitates training for new payroll or human resources staff on Enterprise ERP payroll module; ensures compliance with federal and state regulations.

Prepares and produces the annual W-2 form for employees paid through Franklin County; compiles and prepares reports for quarterly federal and state reporting; assists with certain areas of the annual audit and Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR).

Serves as the point of contact between fiscal payroll and other county entities and outside entities.
