The role involves leading design, managing consultants, and ensuring the technical quality of mechanical systems from concept through execution. Responsibilities Lead the design and evolution of mechanical systems for AI-optimised, high-density data center projects Develop and maintain modular mechanical templates to support rapid, repeatable deployment across multiple sites Serve as the technical interface between internal teams and external consultants, ensuring alignment with high-density cooling and power requirements Own mechanical systems from initial concept and analytical modelling through final build and execution Apply strong analytical judgment through CFD modelling and capacity planning to inform design decisions Hold external partners accountable for technical quality across engineering and fabrication workflows Manage concurrent projects across design, permitting, and construction phases Skills Degree in Mechanical Engineering 5 to 8 years of experience designing large-scale industrial or mission-critical facilities, specifically data centers Demonstrated expertise in high-density cooling systems including liquid-to-chip and immersion cooling Proficiency in Revit and BIM for template creation and design development Strong analytical skills including CFD modelling and capacity planning Able to operate with full ownership and manage complex external relationships PE license Prior experience at a hyperscale operator or large-scale data center developer Benefits Equity Health, dental, and vision insurance Retirement plan Generous PTO Company Overview Clear are a data center and energy infrastructure talent consultancy specialising in engineering, white collar construction, through to C-Suite on both permanent and contract across EMEA, North America & APAC.
