[Remote] Senior Microsoft Power BI Developer (Engineer Software 3) - 27013

Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking a Senior Microsoft Power BI Developer to support the United States Postal Service (USPS) Office of Inspector General (OIG). The Power BI Developer will focus on business intelligence and reporting technologies, creating data models, visualizing data, and collaborating with technical teams to deliver quality solutions. Responsibilities • Create data models, establish relationship cardinality and cross-filter direction, and build complex measures • Visualize data models by creating reports and dashboards • Assist in the delivery of quality solutions using Microsoft Business Intelligence tools (Power BI) and related technologies • Partner with OIG customers and OCIO technical team members to assist with requirements definitions, solution designs, technical architecture, and delivery • Work collaboratively with team members including project managers, solution architects, and business analysts • Implement solutions using Microsoft Power BI tool suite and related technologies • Understand the administrative functions for Power BI, Managing data gateway, usage report, etc • Leverage database systems including data warehouses, data marts, and models needed for business, financial, and operational analysis and/or reporting • Develop high performing, reliable, and scalable solutions • Optimize performance on new and existing data models Clearly communicate technical details to business and management staff • Perform data analysis which supports and enhances OIG information management systems and services • Experience with one or more data technologies (e.g., Oracle, SQL Data Warehouse, SQL Server, etc.) and a willingness to learn how to leverage these technologies to improve business intelligence • Author and oversee design documents for approved projects • Develop, publish and, schedule reports, dashboards & scorecards, data exploration, and visual analytics using existing and emerging technologies and tools • Provide meaningful feedback and coaching of other team members in the use of Microsoft Power BI and related technologies • Provide insight and recommendations on new and emerging technologies and concepts to OCIO team members Skills • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience • Client requirements 8+ years of progressive experience in business intelligence and/or information management • 4+ years of experience with data visualization and implementing high-value solutions; experience performing administrative activities across multi-environment infrastructures • 5+ years of experience working in a client-facing technical role • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or related field OR possess a PL-300 Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Certification or equivalent cert • Strong SharePoint SE/2016/2019 and Nintex/K2 experience • Proficient in developing complex of Data Analytics Expressions (DAX) and M (Power) Queries • Experience with developing interactive dashboards –e.g., parameters, actions, navigation –for ease-of-use • Proficient in creating dataflows or datamarts • Experience with designing composite models • Experience with report builder and developing paginated reports • Experience with applying roles and Row Level Security (RLS) to Reports, Apps and workspaces • Experience integrating customized automated solutions using PowerApps, Power Automate, SharePoint and Dataverse with Power BI • Expert knowledge of data management, business intelligence and analytics concepts including Extract, transform, load (ETL), Data warehousing, data marts, data stores, and cubes, Data quality and profiling, Data governance, data management, and metadata management, Data visualization, dashboard design / implementation, reporting, self-service BI, data KPIs, and scorecards, Predictive, prescriptive, and descriptive analytics • Proficiency in one or more languages SQL, SAS, R, Python • Must be able to obtain and maintain a USPS Sensitive Clearance • Must be a US Citizen • Experience with Government software development policies and procedures Benefits • Best-in-class medical, dental and vision plan choices • Wellness resources • Employee assistance programs • Savings Plan Options (401(k)) • Financial planning tools • Life insurance • Employee discounts • Paid holidays • Paid time off • Tuition reimbursement • Early childhood and post-secondary education scholarships Company Overview • HII’s Mission Technologies division develops integrated solutions that enable today’s connected, all-domain force.
