As a Staff Product Designer for Advanced Trade, you will be responsible for shaping sophisticated trading experiences and leading design initiatives across various platforms, ensuring high-quality user interactions for millions of traders. Responsibilities Own end-to-end product design for key Advanced Trade experiences across web and mobile, from discovery and concepting through prototyping, specs, iteration, and launch quality Lead high-ambiguity, zero-to-one and improvement initiatives across advanced trading surfaces, including areas such as derivatives, spot margin, structured products, portfolio, and modular UI evolution Raise the craft and quality bar across the Advanced Trading product surface, helping bring our UI and interaction quality up to what best-in-class industry products are expected to deliver in 2026 and beyond Design scalable frameworks, patterns, and information architecture for complex, data-dense workflows so advanced traders can move with clarity in high-stakes moments Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Research, and cross-functional peers to define problems, evaluate tradeoffs, and ship thoughtful, high-impact work Lead through influence by coaching and upleveling more junior designers, contributing strong opinions, and extending your impact beyond a single project or feature area Skills 8+ years of experience designing digital products, including meaningful time in complex, data-dense, workflow-heavy, or tools-oriented environments Broad end-to-end product design range and a track record of operating autonomously with limited oversight in fast-moving, ambiguous environments Strong visual design, interaction design, systems thinking, and prototyping craft; able to raise the quality bar for the broader team Proven ability to lead through influence, shape direction, and coach less experienced designers without formal management responsibility Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to partner effectively with Product and Engineering on highly collaborative work Deep fluency in Figma and modern prototyping workflows Demonstrates the ability to responsibly use generative AI tools and copilots in day-to-day workflows, applying sound judgment and human-in-the-loop practices to improve quality and efficiency Experience designing for trading, brokerage, wallet, fintech, or other high-information, high-stakes products Familiarity with crypto market structure, derivatives, options, charting, portfolio, or related advanced trading concepts Experience working on zero-to-one launches, major platform redesigns, or building design systems / scalable UI frameworks in high-growth environments Background as a founding designer or in smaller, high-craft teams where you had to figure things out with minimal process or support Benefits Equity and bonus eligibility Benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k)) Company Overview Coinbase is a crypto exchange and wallet platform that allows merchants and consumers to buy, sell, and store digital currencies.
