Renewable Energy Data Analyst - Carbon Emissions

Job Summary

Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking a highly analytical and purpose-driven Renewable Energy Data Analyst – Carbon Emissions to support our growing sustainability and clean energy initiatives. This role focuses on collecting, analyzing, and interpreting carbon emissions and renewable energy data to help organizations measure, reduce, and optimize their environmental impact. The ideal candidate will combine strong data analytics expertise with a solid understanding of renewable energy systems, ESG metrics, and carbon accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets related to carbon emissions, renewable energy production, and energy consumption.

  • Develop dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to track emissions, renewable performance, and sustainability KPIs.

  • Support carbon footprint calculations, emissions inventories (Scope 1, 2, and 3), and decarbonization initiatives.

  • Collaborate with sustainability, engineering, and policy teams to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for emissions reduction.

  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with global reporting standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct scenario modeling and forecasting to support renewable energy and climate strategy decisions.

  • Prepare insights and presentations for internal stakeholders and external clients.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools such as Python, R, SQL, Excel, or similar platforms.

  • Experience with BI and visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or equivalent).

  • Solid understanding of carbon accounting frameworks (GHG Protocol, ISO 14064, CDP, or similar).

  • Knowledge of renewable energy systems, emissions factors, and sustainability metrics.

  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Data Science, Environmental Science, Renewable Energy, Engineering, Economics, or a related field.

  • 2–5 years of experience in data analysis, sustainability analytics, energy analytics, or a related domain.

  • Hands-on experience working with carbon emissions data or ESG/sustainability reporting is highly preferred.

  • Experience in consulting, energy, utilities, or climate-focused organizations is an advantage.

Working Hours

  • Full-time position
