THE OPPORTUNITY
We are hiring a Senior Analyst to own and grow Counterpoint's Power Semiconductor coverage — one of the most strategically important and rapidly evolving segments in global semiconductors, driven by vehicle electrification, AI and telco infrastructure buildout and energy efficiency mandates.This position combines technology depth with market intelligence and business understanding. You will track technology transitions in power semi from fabs to end market levels and translate them into competitive dynamics, market share shifts, pricing trends, and supply chain positioning. Your research will be acted upon by the most influential companies in this space and aligns with our goal to be the industry’s “trusted advisor”.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Build and own proprietary databases and forecast models covering power semiconductor supply (fab capacity, utilization, capex) and demand by application, device type, and company.
- Produce quarterly market share reports, technology deep-dives, and competitive landscapes tracking who is gaining and losing across SiC, GaN, and legacy Si platforms.
- Analyze device-level technology trends — process node transitions, substrate economics, packaging innovations — and their impact on product pricing, gross margins, and competitive moats.
- Monitor fab investment cycles, equipment spending, wafer pricing dynamics, and capacity constraints across the full power semiconductor supply chain.
- Deliver research briefings and presentations to Tier-1 clients: chipmakers, OEMs, investors, and government bodies.
- Engage directly with industry executives, IR teams, and engineering leaders to generate primary research unavailable from secondary sources.

Required
- Minimum 5–10 years of industry experience in roles such as technical or product marketing, management applications engineering, technical sales, business development, or supply chain — at a power semiconductor company, IDM, foundry, or equipment firm.
- Strong working knowledge of power device families — SiC MOSFETs, GaN HEMTs, Si MOSFETs, IGBTs — including their application contexts across auto, industrial, data center, and consumer.
- Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing economics: process flows, substrate costs, fab utilization rates, and how these drive pricing and competitive positioning.
- Demonstrated ability to build market models, size TAMs, and derive actionable insights from complex or incomplete datasets.
- Excellent English communication skills — written and spoken — with the ability to translate technical complexity into clear strategic narrative for executive audiences.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Microelectronics, or a related field.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and if needed sometimes across time zones for collaboration or client meetings.
- Prior experience in market research, equity research, or technology consulting with a semiconductor coverage focus.
- Hands-on familiarity with power device characterization, cleanroom processes, or manufacturing cost analysis — knowledge similar to teardown or
