Respiratory Therapist Full Time

Mercy is seeking a compassionate and skilled Reg Respiratory Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team and contribute to our mission of providing comprehensive, patient-centered care. In this role, you will deliver high-quality respiratory therapy services to patients across a range of ages and clinical conditions, supporting the diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic cardiopulmonary disorders. Working closely with physicians, nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team, you will perform thorough respiratory assessments, develop and implement individualized therapy plans, and adjust interventions based on patient response and evidence-based protocols.

Your daily responsibilities will include administering oxygen and aerosolized medications, managing non-invasive and invasive ventilator support, performing arterial blood gas sampling and analysis, and conducting diagnostic procedures such as pulmonary function tests and bedside spirometry. You will play a critical role in emergencies, assisting with airway management and rapid response situations, while ensuring that all therapies align with current clinical standards and safety regulations. As a Reg Respiratory Therapist at Mercy, you will be expected to maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record, communicate clearly with patients and families regarding respiratory treatments and self-care, and collaborate closely with colleagues to coordinate seamless care across hospital departments.

You will help monitor and troubleshoot respiratory equipment, follow strict infection prevention and control practices, and participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives that advance clinical outcomes.
