<strong> OVERVIEW/BASIC FUNCTION: </strong><br><br>Responsible for the Spa and Fitness Center of this 120 ultra-luxury property in Menlo Park. Demonstrate a proven record of effectively managing all areas of the Spa operations.<br><br>As Director of Spa & Wellness you will assist with the managing of our Asaya Spa team to develop their knowledge, skills, and service of a destination spa in our hotel. You will build and nurture relationships with your team to ensure they provide an engaging, intuitive and refined service to our guests and lifestyle members. It is primarily responsible for supervising the proper operation of the Spa in order to achieve maximum satisfaction to the guests. <br><br> This person must demonstrate the highest level of hospitality and professionalism in order to motivate their team to achieve the highest standards possible. They must act as an ambassador for the hotel, displaying a great sense of style and integrity and conveying to the guest a sense of knowledge and assurance. They will have immaculate personal presentation and be passionate about developing their team. In addition they will be able to maintain excellent working relationships in all hotel areas and with external customers and suppliers. <br><br> Under the general supervision of the Hotel Manager, the Director of Spa & Wellness is responsible for all operation concerning the department and verifying that employees of the spa are prepared to exceed the guest expectations providing personalized service. The Director of Spa & Wellness is responsible for maintaining the highest levels of satisfaction within the hotel, check that your work area and tools are in perfect condition for labor, have a complete understanding of the role of therapy equipment and spa treatments. <br><br> This role will require an exceptional level of attention to detail, excellent written and spoken English and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel. The role also requires extensive experience in spa & hotel management systems, in particular Spa Soft & Opera.<br><br><strong> RESPONSIBILITIES: </strong><br>• Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards. <br>• Hire, train, and supervise all spa and fitness employees. <br>• Create, maintain, and monitor adherence to Spa and Fitness policies and procedures. <br>• Provide a supportive working environment for Spa staff and a premium experience for guests. <br>• Organize and supervise the operation of the Spa and Fitness center. <br>• Maintain the highest quality of service and standards in all departments of the Spa. <br>• Continually learn and become knowledgeable in spa services and therapies, health and wellness. <br>• Demonstrate solid financial knowledge as it relates to inventory, strategic planning, budgeting and staffing levels. <br>• Collaborate with the Director of Sales & Marketing to develop and execute a strategic plan to meet Spa sales and Spa positioning objectives. <br>• Ensure that standards are maintained at a superior level on a daily basis. <br>• All other duties as required.<br><br><strong> QUALIFICATIONS: </strong><br><br>Broad understanding of the concept Spa and Health Tourism industry, Spa Management and Operations, Budget Control, Personnel Management, Opportunity Management, Fluent in Microsoft and the Internet, knowledge of computer system for spas, extensive knowledge of massage techniques, Cosmetology, hydrotherapy, therapeutic techniques, traditional and natural methods<br>• Education: Bachelors or Associate degree preferred or a combination of education and equivalent work experience. Certifications in Massage and/or Esthetics preferred.<br>• Experience: Minimum five (5) years spa experience in a luxury hotel/resort environment. Previous Spa Director level experience required.<br>• General Skills: Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; prioritize, organize and follow-up; be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment; follow directions thoroughly; understand a guest's service needs; work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team; work with minimal supervision; maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data. Motivated/outgoing personality<br>• Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; Opera, Spa Soft and Birchstreet preferred. This is the pay range for this position that the Hotel reasonably expects to pay. This position is eligible for bonus.<br><br>Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, such as experience, type of hotel luxury experience, location, and education.
