Senior Consultant – Healthcare Financial Transformation – Clinical Integrity, Surgical Coding, CDI

Job Description:

  • Clinical Integrity Senior Consultants have responsibility for client management, solution implementation and generation of project results.
  • You will own project workstreams and interact with the client daily to ensure engagement success.
  • This includes supporting day-to-day operational meetings with client sponsors and consulting leaders.
  • Senior Consultants are expected to prepare and communicate well-organized, effective reports and presentations to client and internal executives.
  • You will lead, coach and mentor junior consultants and ensure quality deliverables.
  • Managing Consultants own client engagements from cultivation to completion.
  • In this role, you will be accountable for the activities of the project team and support the day-to-day management of the client relationship.
  • You are expected to effectively develop and manage work plans, staffing, deadlines and budgets for multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Work products are expected to be high-quality and client-ready.
  • In this visible role, you will lead team meetings, and guide, manage, and coach consultants and senior consultants, providing constructive feedback on project participation and overall career development.
  • Managing Consultants work closely with Directors and Partners to keep them abreast of project progress and important developments.
  • Managing Consultants support practice development.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS Degree or higher in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Clinical Administration, or RN Licensure
  • HIM or Clinical Documentation Improvement certification through either of the following: AHIMA, AAPC, or ACDIS (e.g., RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, CDIP, CCDS)
  • For Senior Consultant, 5 + years of experience in the role of Clinical Documentation Specialist or Inpatient Coding professional
  • For Managing Consultant, 5 + years of professional experience in Clinical Documentation and/or Inpatient Coding in the role of Manager, Supervisor, Lead or equivalent)
  • Strong MS-DRG/APR-DRG coding experience
  • Strong ICD-10-CM/PCS diagnosis and surgical coding experience
  • Strong understanding of coding and diagnosis capture for risk adjustment
  • Strong understanding of leading practice CDI key performance indicators, financial impact, and optimized processes
  • Ability to clearly convey the value and impact of OP IP CDI executives and hospital leadership
  • Advanced analytical and data manipulation skills using Excel
  • Willingness to travel to client sites across the United States up to 50%
  • Ability to develop and deliver educational presentations to providers and clinicians
