Senior Consultant – Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Operations

Job Description:

  • Client Collaboration & Solution Design: Partner directly with client stakeholders to understand operational processes, challenges, and business goals. Gather detailed requirements and translate them into tailored Business Central solutions. Proactively identify pain points and demonstrate how Dynamics 365 Business Central can add measurable value.
  • System Configuration & Customization: Configure Business Central to align with operational requirements and best practices. Customize workflows, reports, and extensions to support unique client environments. Ensure seamless integrations across business functions and third‑party solutions.
  • End‑to‑End Implementations: Serve as a functional lead through the full BC implementation lifecycle: analysis, design, configuration, testing, go‑live, and post‑go‑live support. Ensure solutions are scalable, user‑adopted, and exceed client expectations—not just technically functional.
  • Operational Process Optimization: Analyze end‑to‑end operational processes, including manufacturing, inventory, warehousing, purchasing, and fulfillment. Recommend and implement improvements that increase efficiency, visibility, and performance using base Business Central functionality and add‑on tools.
  • Training, Enablement & Mentorship: Deliver client training to ensure confidence and long‑term adoption of Business Central. Provide post‑go‑live advisory support and optimization as client needs evolve. Mentor junior consultants and contribute to team knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Data Migration & Integration: Lead data migrations from legacy systems into Business Central, ensuring accuracy and integrity. Support integrations with EDI, shipping solutions, and related operational systems.
  • Project & Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with project managers to manage scope, timelines, effort, and client satisfaction. Collaborate with other consultants and internal teams to deliver cohesive, end‑to‑end solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current on Business Central updates, features, and the broader Microsoft ecosystem. Act as a subject matter expert for BC operational functionality and industry best practices.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (formerly NAV)
  • Proven experience leading multiple end‑to‑end BC implementations, both remote and on‑site
  • Strong functional expertise in manufacturing, distribution, warehousing, MRP/MPS, and inventory management
  • Business Central certifications preferred
  • Experience interfacing with end users and translating business requirements into system design
  • Strong client‑facing communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform
  • Strong documentation skills, including Functional Design Documents
  • Experience with EDI integrations
  • Expert in Discrete and Process Manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of base BC planning tools (MRP / MPS)
  • Experience configuring complex warehousing solutions in Business Central
  • Experience implementing at least two of the following: Insight Works Warehouse Insight, Insight Works Shop Floor, Insight Works Order Fulfillment, Insight Works Product Configurator, Insight Works MxAPS, Insight Works Dynamic Ship, With Banyan LTL, Experience implementing base BC Shopify Connector and BC Service module.
