Department Overview Penang Supply Chain Finance - Cost Accounting and Control Team

Job Description Key Responsibilities

i) To review inventory related transactions are proper accounted in General Ledger and perform necessary adjustment via manual journal entries for related issues.

ii) To perform closing of Inventory periods.

iii) To perform monthly inventory accounts reconciliation as per corporate submission deadline.

iv) Responsible for monthly Supply Chain inventory reporting and variance analysis.

v) To perform annual cost reformation activities.

vi) To perform cost per unit analysis and variance analysis.

vii) Prepare and analyze Inventory Excess and Obsolescence Reserve for quarterly review.

viii) Work with IT on resolving various issues mainly related to Greenfield system.

ix) To identify process improvement opportunities and process simplification to improve efficiency in day to day task.

x) Key contact for operation/process flow related issue by providing advice and consultation with constructive solution specifically on cost accounting subjects and ability to assess overall business impact.

xi) Support SOX and audit requests.

xii) Participate in any ad-hoc assignments.

Basic Requirements

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor Degree or Professional Qualification in Accountancy or Finance.
  • Required language(s): English and Bahasa Malaysia. Proficiency in Mandarin will be an added advantage.
  • At least 5 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
  • Knowledge of ERP accounting process and system flow, preferably with Oracle system.
  • Computer literate. Strong Microsoft Excel skill is mandatory.
  • Preferably senior executive specializing in Finance-General/ Cost Accounting or equivalent.
  • Good communication and inter-personal skills.
  • Self-motivated with excellent issue resolution skill and high ability to identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Team player.
  • Flexible in working hours. Candidate will need to support US counterpart.
  • Willing to work in Bayan Lepas, Penang.
