Senior Front-End Engineer (React/TypeScript) (U.S. Remote - Occasional Office Visits Required)

Overview Role Overview We are seeking a skilled Front-End Engineer with strong experience in building modern, scalable web applications using React and TypeScript. The ideal candidate is proficient in component-driven architecture, GraphQL client integration, state management, and front-end DevOps practices. Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain React applications using TypeScript, with a focus on performance, accessibility, and maintainability. • Build efficient GraphQL operations. • Develop reusable, well-tested UI components and maintain a consistent design system. • Deploy releases and hotfixes to production environments. • Debug issues in production or development environments. • Write unit/integration tests as part of each feature/bug fix. • Collaborate cross-functionally with back-end engineers and product stakeholders to deliver robust and maintainable systems. • Apply front-end best practices for performance, accessibility, security, and code quality. • Participate in code reviews, contribute to engineering standards, and support continuous improvement across the team. Qualifications • 5+ years of professional experience in front-end software development. • Strong proficiency with TypeScript and React. • Experience with GraphQL clients (Apollo Client or equivalent) and consuming API schemas. • Solid understanding of component architecture, state management patterns, and modern React paradigms. • Familiarity with AWS-hosted front-end infrastructure (S3, CloudFront, API Gateway). • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control workflows. • Able to perform root cause analysis on issues within the application. • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with cross-functional teams. Preferred Knowledge (Nice-to-Have) • Familiarity with AWS CDK or IaC for front-end infrastructure configuration. • Performance optimization techniques (code splitting, lazy loading, caching strategies). • Accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA / 508 compliance). • FedRAMP or other certification knowledge. Compensation Base Salary $100,000 - $140,000 Final compensation will depend on factors such as geographic location, experience, and qualifications. In-Person Interview Our hiring process requires one in-person meeting, typically the final interview. Travel and accommodations will be provided. Remote Work Though predominantly remote, infrequent office visits will be required, typically quarterly. All travel costs for these visits will be covered by Unison.
