Security clearance is not required. Description Goals and Objectives Serve as a SQL Database Administrator, responsible for managing and maintaining SQL Server databases, implementing and managing database backup and recovery strategies, collaborating with development teams to support database-related tasks, perform database performance tuning and optimization. Tasks and Responsibilities • Manage, monitor, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases to ensure high availability and reliability. • Optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and system resource management. • Develop and implement database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies. • Plan and execute database and server upgrades, patches, and migrations with minimal downtime. • Implement security measures, including encryption, authentication, and auditing to protect data. • Work closely with developers, system administrators, and business analysts to support application development and troubleshooting. • Utilize monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve performance and reliability issues. Key Requirements • Contractor must be a U.S. Citizen. Security clearance is not required. • Expertise in SQL Server (2017/2019/2022) installation, configuration, administration, maintenance, and optimization. • Experience with Always-On Availability Groups, Clustering, and Replication. • Hands-on experience in database backup, restore, and disaster recovery planning. • Proficiency in SQL Server Profiler, Performance Monitor, and Extended Events. • Knowledge of SSIS and SSRS • Understanding and experience of cloud-based databases (Azure, etc.) is a plus. • Proficient in completing daily assignments and project activities with great attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy. • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, good judgment, and an ability to act decisively.
