Responsibilities

  • Designs and leads overall sustainability for systems including scheduling, monitoring and testing of our platform resiliency.
  • Documents business case options for design to address sustainability and system efficiency impacts where appropriate.
  • Investigates and recommends components and subsystems that meet sustainability criteria and levels.
  • Develops and adopts appropriate design standards, methods, and tools in order to design complex systems and ensures they are applied effectively.
  • Oversees others' systems designs to ensure selection of appropriate technology, efficient use of resources, and integration of multiple systems and technology.
  • Evaluates impact analysis on major design options then assesses and manages associated risks.
  • Ensures that the system design balances functional, service quality and security.
  • Leads the development efforts for interpretation, execution, and documentation of complex test scripts using agreed methods and standards.
  • Records and analyze actions and results and maintains a defect tracker.
  • Reviews test results and modifies tests if necessary.
  • Provides reports on progress, anomalies, risks, and issues associated with the overall project.
  • Reports on system quality and collects metrics on test cases.
  • Identifies process improvements and contributes to corporate testing standards and definition of best practice.
  • Introduces and configures monitoring and testing tools to build dashboards detailing KPI’s associated with platform resiliency that are standardized across environments.
  • Plans, executes and reports on resiliency real time in an always-on approach to platform and application services.
  • Key stakeholder with architecture, engineering, and product teams to establish solution patterns and ensures adherence to overall design to support resiliency at each layer of a solution.
  • Works with cross functional Product owners to remediate and technical debt that is identified through the testing plans.
  • Provides detailed reporting on resiliency to senior leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related.
  • Five (5) years in any occupation with Cloud Engineering experience with focus on Azure and GCP.
  • Five (5) years in any occupation with Cloud Engineering experience with focus on Azure and GCP must include: Experience creating and executing platform resiliency testing strategies; Leading a program/project working with multiple stakeholders to deliver on those strategies; Experience with leading engineers through complex development; Experience with Ansible and Terraform platforms and code; Experience as lead platform engineer in public and private clouds; Ability to guide application code refactoring (GoLang, Java, Spring); Leading code practices and engineering documentation standards; and Experience is driving agile processes for engineering platforms and software.
