Strategy and Analytics Lead - Windows Commercial

<strong>Overview<br><br></strong>The Windows + Devices Strategy & Business Planning team drives the strategy, planning, and analytics that power Microsoft's Windows and Surface businesses. Within this team, the Windows Commercial Strategy function is responsible for shaping how Windows wins in the enterprise, driving commercial growth, accelerating services and subscription monetization, and ensuring Windows is positioned as the platform of choice for the world's largest organizations.<br><br>We are looking for a <strong><em>Strategy and Analytics Lead - Windows Commercial</em></strong> to lead Windows Commercial Strategy. This person will define and drive the multi-year commercial growth strategy for Windows in the enterprise, with a particular focus on SaaS, subscription, and B2B monetization motions. In this role, you will bring a rare combination of strategic thinking, deep commercial/enterprise software fluency, and rigorous analytical excellence, and can translate insight into action across leadership and cross-functional partners.<br><br>In this role, you will work in close partnership with Windows + Devices Marketing leadership, Field/Sales, Engineering, Finance, and Pricing teams. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.<br><br><strong>Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Commercial Strategy: Own the multi-year commercial growth strategy for Windows in the enterprise, including segmentation, monetization, pricing constructs, and go-to-market motions across direct, partner, and OEM channels.</li><li>Services/ Subscription Growth: Define and accelerate Windows & Microsoft services and subscription strategy in commercial, identifying new monetization opportunities, attach motions, and customer lifecycle plays.</li><li>Enterprise Business Insight: Develop a deep, data-driven understanding of the enterprise customer, buying patterns, deployment behaviors, competitive dynamics, and willingness-to-pay, and translate insight into prioritized strategic bets.</li><li>Analytics & Modeling: Build the analytical foundation for commercial decision-making, including market sizing, scenario modeling, financial impact analysis, and KPI frameworks. Partner with Finance and Data Science on rigorous quantitative inputs.</li><li>Executive Storytelling: Frame and present strategic recommendations to the Windows + Devices CVP, the Marketing leadership team, and cross-org senior partners. Translate complex analyses into crisp, decision-ready narratives.</li><li>Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner across Marketing, Field/Sales, Engineering, Finance, Pricing, and Legal to land strategic decisions and drive execution.</li><li>Competitive & Market Intelligence: Maintain a forward-looking view of the commercial PC and enterprise software competitive landscape, including emerging SaaS/AI-driven business model shifts.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong><strong>Required/minimum qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>5+ years experience in commercial strategy, business strategy, corporate development, or management consulting, with meaningful time spent on B2B / enterprise software businesses, or related experience</li><ul><li>OR equivalent experience.<br></li></ul></ul><strong>Additional Or Preferred Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>8+ years experience in commercial strategy, business strategy, corporate development, or management consulting, with meaningful time spent on B2B / enterprise software businesses, or related experience AND Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Finance, or related field</li><ul><li>OR 6+ years experience in commercial strategy, business strategy, corporate development, or management consulting, with meaningful time spent on B2B / enterprise software businesses, or related experience AND Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), or related field</li><li>OR equivalent experience.</li></ul><li>Demonstrated experience with services or subscription business models, including pricing, packaging, monetization, and customer lifecycle analytics.</li><li>Enterprise / commercial business fluency, understanding of how large organizations buy, deploy, and renew commercial software and devices.</li><li>Proven analytical skills, comfortable building financial models, sizing markets, structuring ambiguous problems, and pressure-testing assumptions.</li><li>Track record of influencing senior executives and driving alignment across cross-functional, matrixed organizations.</li><li>Prior experience in a strategy consulting firm, investment bank, or corporate strategy function at a major B2B / SaaS company.</li><li>Experience with Windows, Microsoft 365, or commercial PC ecosystems.</li><li>Familiarity with Microsoft's commercial sales motion (EA, CSP, MCA-E) and partner ecosystem.</li><li>Demonstrated executive communication skills, both written narratives and live presentations.<br></li></ul>Business Planning IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400.00 - $203,600.00 per year.
