<p><strong>Job Summary</strong></p> <p>If you are passionate about logistics and have a proven track record in transportation management, this opportunity is for you!</p> <p>We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Transportation Manager to oversee non-asset-based transportation operations. This role focuses on coordinating and optimizing freight movement through third-party carriers and logistics partners, supporting 90 retail stores across 12 states serviced by 5 distribution centers. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective transportation while maintaining compliance and strong carrier relationships.</p> <p><strong>Essential Job Duties</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Strategy</strong>: Develop and implement transportation strategies aligned with company goals.</li> <li><strong>Manage</strong>: Oversee daily operations of the transportation department, ensuring compliance with company policies and vendor performance standards.</li> <li><strong>3PL Oversight</strong>: Manage relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers and asset-based carriers, ensuring SLAs are met and resolving transit issues. <ul> <li>Oversee carrier scheduling and route planning.</li> <li>Coordinate with carriers to ensure timely deliveries and address issues during transit.</li> <li>Monitor vendor compliance with DOT/OSHA regulations (Hours of Service (HOS), vehicle inspections, driver files) through contract oversight and audits.</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>Safety</strong>: Champion a culture of safety by implementing proactive measures, conducting vendor audits, and ensuring adherence to all regulatory and company safety standards.</li> <li><strong>KPIs</strong>: Track and improve KPIs: on-time %, cost per mile, claims rate, fuel efficiency.</li> <li><strong>Records</strong>: Maintain accurate transportation records (dispatch, load documentation, vendor compliance reports).</li> <li><strong>Collaborate</strong>: Partner with DC/warehouse, operations, and e-commerce teams to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs).</li> <li><strong>Leadership</strong>: Coach and develop transportation team members and collaborate with receiving teams to reinforce safety best practices.</li> <li><strong>Improvement</strong>: Drive continuous improvement and efficiencies using data analysis and methodologies such as Lean/Six Sigma.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>Proven experience in transportation management, preferably in a non-asset-based environment.</li> <li>Strong understanding of transportation regulations (DOT, OSHA, HOS) and safety standards.</li> <li>Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.</li> <li>Proficiency in Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.</li> <li>Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage carrier relationships and internal teams.</li> <li>Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions based on performance metrics.</li> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field (preferred).</li> </ul><p> <b>Equal Opportunity Employer:</b> We are an equal opportunity employer.
