Job title High School - ESL Teacher Company Delaware Department of Education Job description The John Dickinson School is hiring a full-time English as a Second Language Teacher General Responsibilities • Oversee all ESL teachers and curriculum. • Plan lessons, including designing activities with learning objectives using state adult ESL guidelines, develop assessments to monitor student growth and understanding and adapt curriculum to students? needs. • Use data to drive instruction in content and language acquisition, with focus on speaking, listening, reading, and writing in English. • Plan and organize ESL orientation, student placement and records. Organize process of student enrollment, including application, pre-assessment, initial interview and placement. • Work with principal and staff to implement STAR Reading programs. • Monitor and oversee all ESL pre/post-tests and outcomes for NRS reporting. • Attend any state ESL meetings as needed. • Utilize LACES, Schoology, email, computer aided instruction and other platforms as needed and assigned • Actively work and assist to help to meet all school goals Qualification • Must hold a valid ESL, adult education or related teaching license • Knowledge of curriculum and instruction, strategies and materials for the education of ELL?s • Experience in supervision and grant writing preferred • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills • BEST ?
