Visual & Performing Arts Teacher

<p>IDEA Public Charter School is seeking a creative, energetic, and student-centered Visual & Performing Arts Teacher to help students explore artistic expression, creativity, and performance. This position will teach both Art and Music courses, which are graduation requirements for all students, while also helping to shape a broader vision for arts education at the school. We are open to candidates with experience or interest in a variety of artistic disciplines, including visual arts, music, digital media, performance, production, or other creative fields.</p><p><br></p><p>The ideal candidate believes the arts are an essential part of a well-rounded education and can create engaging, hands-on learning experiences that help students build creativity, confidence, collaboration, and self-expression. This role offers flexibility and opportunities for creativity in designing meaningful experiences for students while ensuring that all students successfully complete required coursework in art and music.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Teach high school Art and Music courses aligned to graduation requirements</li><li>Develop engaging, hands-on lessons that encourage creativity and artistic exploration</li><li>Expose students to a variety of artistic styles, genres, cultures, and forms of expression</li><li>Create opportunities for student performance, exhibition, or showcase experiences</li><li>Integrate creative projects, collaboration, and real-world applications into instruction</li><li>Build positive relationships with students and foster an inclusive classroom environment</li><li>Collaborate with school staff to support school culture and student engagement</li><li>Ensure that all students are motivated and are able to obtain the required credits needed in Art and Music</li><li>Contribute ideas for expanding and strengthening the school’s arts programming over time</li></ul><p></p>
